X-Fire, a Gaming Prodigy

X-Fire, a Gaming Prodigy
Sunday 01 June 2008

Not so long ago, XFire reached over 10 million registered users. Which, for any program is a milestone. I have been a member for several years and I, for one, love the program and what it does. For those of you who don't know what this program does I'll give you a short description.

XFire is a chat program that allows you to chat with people all over the world and talk using a microphone and not only that but it tracks your gaming hours while you play games. It is a great utility when trying to join your friend in a multiplayer match. It eliminates the hassle of opening the game and searching. All you must do is log into xfire and have the game installed on your system and your friend on your friend list and you just right click their name and choose "Join Game". It's free, Simple, and easy to use. Their slogan "Gaming Simplified" really is an understatement when you look into all the possibilities of the program.

Another one of the awesome features that XFire supports is downloading game updates within the program. You can download your favorite patches for your games with just a few clicks of the button. You also don't have to stick to the boring standard skin. You are allowed to download and convert over to another skin provided by skinners in the community.

Now, back to the gaming hours. While using this program all you need to do to have it track your hours is to have the game installed and "seen" by xfire. All that it requires is after you've installed xfire, you just need to go to Tools > Options > Games and it will scan your computer for all the games supported by xfire. I also would like to point out there are over 1002 games supported by xfire. If you would like to see a demo of a profile, you can visit mine which has almost something in all the sections.

If you wish to learn more about xfire, you can visit their Help Section or just add me to your msn or xfire.
