How To Customize Your Profile

Looking for that extra something to set your profile apart from the rest? Well one of our newest premium features allows our members to customize their profile header, changing the background images to anything they choose. This tutorial will teach you how to add your own personal touch to member profiles while also making your page the envy of the community, just check out my header above. Remember you need to be a premium member for this to work, so Upgrade Your Account if you haven't already!

1) Getting To The Customization Page
First login to your account at The Multiplayer Network account. If you are already logged in, select the "Manage Your Account" link located on your user control box located at the top of all network sites. Now you are at your account control panel. Select the "Account Settings Tab (Image 1). Once on your account settings page, you will notice a link titled "Change Your Profile Header Image" (Image 2), click this to be taken to the customization page.

2) Changing The Image
The first thing you need to do is select a background image. The basic size is 515px width and 80px high, although any image you upload will work, it will just be adjusted to fit. While you may upload any image you choose (so long as it doesn't violate our user policy), background images that have little writing and stick to a particular color theme tend to work better as they do not interfere with the main text. The next step will explain the text color function.

3) Changing Your Text Color
On your header things such as user name and rank are displayed in text over your image. Our system allows you to adjust the color of this text so it will still appear no matter what your background image is. Basically if your background image is dark, such as grays or blacks, you should choose the white font. If your background is light or bright colors, select the black text. You can always change this setting, so the best is just to play with it and use whichever looks best.

Now simply click the update button and you're done! It's that easy. You can check out the one I made below, I used a slightly light background with dark text. Remember this is only for premium memberships, and you get this feature along with many more. Good luck!
